Sign questions are the easiest to prepare for and the easiest to lose points on. The test shows a sign and asks what it means, or describes a situation and asks which sign applies. There is no partial credit for knowing the colour but not the sign.
The handbook’s signs section is the source. It shows regulatory signs, warning signs, guide and service signs, and the signs and markings for construction zones, railroad crossings and school zones. Every sign in that section is on this site as an official sign file, not a drawing, so what you practise with is what you will see.
How to learn them
- Go through the road signs topic once in practice. It has 51 questions, one per sign.
- Learn the shapes first: the octagon, the triangle, the diamond, the pentagon, the round sign. The handbook explains what each shape is reserved for.
- Then the colours. Once shape and colour are automatic, the words on the sign are the only thing left to read.
- Finish with the mistakes mode until the topic is clean.
